As Cartoon Network increasingly focuses on adult animation, its ratings for kids have been declining, with kid TV powerhouse Nickelodeon and up-and-comer Kids WB taking up the slack. Advertising Age reports that through mid-November, Cartoon Network was down 11% in its average ratings for kids 2-11, WB was up 35%, and Nick was up 3.5%. In absolute numbers, Nick was tops with a 3.1 Nielsen rating, WB had a 2.7, and Cartoon Network. The big reason for Kids WB's success will come as no surprise to pop culture retailers -- it's primarily due to the strength of the Yu Gi Oh anime, which continues to drive sales of the Upper Deck CCG in all channels.
