Alderac Entertainment Group has shared details on the new card game Cypher, which is planned for fall release.
Designed by David Short (Ground Floor, Planes), this quick card game is similar to Love Letter, but adds a layer of tactics with three different ranks of classes in this sci-fi near-future realm. Players attempt to collect various characters that control access to the nexus, which is the information pipeline that controls the economy. The characters--from corporate overseers to street level hackers--control different levels of influence, and players try to gather the most influence to dominate Cypher, the rogue A.I. who ultimately controls the nexus.
The game comes with 19 character cards, 4 reference cards, a nexus bag and a rulebook. The game is for 2-4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 15 minutes. MSRP is $9.99.
