Fantasy Flight Games has announced a second edition for its A Game of Thrones LCG. Release is planned for Gen Con 2015.
A Game of Thrones: The Card Game Second Edition will feature new artwork and include several updates that involve some elements being cut, others revised or updated, and new elements added. Influence resource and crests will be cut. Keywords will be simplified or updated. The timing system will be streamlined to take advantage of Interrupt, Reaction, and Forced triggers. The draw cap will be replaced. The faction pool will be expanded, and new deck-building rules will be introduced.
The new edition announcement followed FFG’s recent news that it was revising its rotation policy for its competitive LCGs, which limits the lifespan of existing cards in each game’s standard card pool for use in Organized Play (see "FFG Retools LCGs"). Thus, with this new edition of the core set available, the First Edition will be retired at the end of 2015; it will be legal for Organized Play including the National and World Championships through the end of the year.
MSRP is $39.95.
