Summer has officially kicked off and Hollywood news is simmering. Time for a round-up!

Netflix announced the release dates for the final season of Stranger Things at their Tudum 2025 event via a trailer (see below).  The long-awaited fifth season (see "'Stranger Things' End") will stream in three parts: Vol. 1 on November 26, 2025, Vol. 2 on December 25, 2025, and Vol. 3 on December 31, 2025.

Netflix also revealed new footage for Wednesday Season 2 and a Squid Games S3 trailer (see below).  Wednesday Season 2 added Lady Gaga to the Season 2 cast, and will hit streaming in two parts starting August 6, 2025 (see "'Wednesday' S2 Gets Date").  The final season of Squid Games streams on June 27, 2025.

Additionally, Netflix released a first look teaser for the second season of the live action series One Piece (see below).  The new trailer featured Straw Hats' Tony Tony Chopper character, and the new season is expected in 2026.  The first season of the series hit #1 globally when it was released in 2023 (see "'One Piece' Renewed").

Crunchyroll revealed the winners of their 2025 Anime Awards.  The Anime of the Year award was handed to Solo Leveling (see "'Solo Leveling Season 2'"), along with honors for Best New Series, Best Action Anime, Best Main Character, Best Score, and Best Ending Sequence.  The voice actors from the cast also received several awards for their work on the series.  Film of the Year honors went to Look Back and the Best Continuing Series award was handed to Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaida Hashira Training Arc.

Crunchyroll also released an official second trailer for Dan Da Dan Season 2 (see below).  The second season begins streaming on July 3, 2025.

Amazon Prime Video's Fallout series was renewed for Season 3 ahead of its Season 2 premiere.  The previous season of Fallout began streaming on April 11, 2025 (see "'Fallout'"), and the new season is set to stream in December 2025.
