According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Two Towers Special Extended Edition DVD sold 750,000 to 1 million its first day on Tuesday. The first two releases of the 3-DVD strategy (see 'Two Towers DVDs Announced'), plus the VHS version, set a first day record when they were released earlier this year ('see Two Towers Tops 03 First Day Sales').
