Online game developer Turbine Entertainment, thanks to an $18 million dollar investment by Highland Capital Partners and Polaris Venture Partners, will now self-publish Dungeons and Dragons Online (see 'D&D Goes Online').

Turbine will now be able to bring technical support, server housing, quality assurance and billing in-house, allowing for greater control, while maintaining its relationship with Atari for retail marketing and distribution.

Still being worked on, and being allocated a portion of the investment money, is The Lord of the Rings:  Middle Earth Online.
