Sabertooth Games has announced a full slate of releases for the third quarter of 2005, including two expansions for the WarCry CCG, two volumes for the Warhammer Fantasy RPG and two impressive Premium Line large models for the Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game.
The first WarCry expansion is Bearers of Redemption, a 120-card booster expansion set for a July release. The Bearers of Redemption expansion continues the themes introduced in the previously released Bringers of Darkness with expanded use of the Event mechanic. Armies in Bearers of Redemption have more faction symmetry, which provides players with better opportunities for building competitive single-faction decks. The Bearers of Redemption Booster Packs have an srp of $2.99, while the 40-pack Booster Displays are $119.60.
In September Sabertooth will release Valor & Treachery, which comes in the 'Battlebox' two-deck format and introduces new characters including Wood Elves and Skaven, a race of malevolent, bipedal rat-men familiar to all fans of the Warhammer tabletop game.
Speaking of Warhammer, Black Industries, makers of the newly re-released Warhammer Fantasy Role-playing Game, is preparing to release two key volumes for the Warhammer RPG: The Old Word Armoury and Paths of the Damned: Spires of Altdorf. The Old World Armoury ($29.99) is a key sourcebook containing a complete guide to the weapons, equipment and miscellania found in the world of the Warhammer Fantasy RPG; while Paths of the Damned: Spires of Altdorf ($24.99) is the second adventure in the Paths of the Damned campaign and is set during the aftermath of the great siege of Middenheim.
The Premium Line series of large monster figures for the Lord of the Rings Tradeable Miniatures Game is truly impressive, both in size (typically over 8' in height) and in dramatic full color packaging. First up in Q3 2005 is Nazgul on Fellbeast (srp $34.99), a great mounted piece for use in terrorizing your foes and striking fear in the hearts of hobbits everywhere. One out of every four is a special Witch-King on Fellbeast, and all the figures come with a special Eowyn model to oppose it.
Also coming in Q3 is another 'must-have' Premium Line large figure, the Shelob, the great she-spider that haunted Cirith Ungol and comes with a Frodo figure to oppose it.
Sabertooth also plans five releases for its Warhammer 40k CCG (see 'Sabertooth Plans Dark Millennium').
