Although production delays did not allow White Wolf to give away preview packs of its new CSG, Racer Knights of Falconus, at GenCon Indy as planned, the publisher did release sell sheets providing a close look at the basic design of this intriguing game targeted at players ten years-old and up. Published under White Wolf's Arthaus imprint (see 'White Wolf Launches Constructible Strategy Game'), Racer Knights of Falconus allows players to construct their own Hot Wheels-sized racer from the 3 plastic cards that are included in every pack (retail $2.99). The various components of the cars are interchangeable, which provides an incentive to buy more packs in order to be able to create just the right sort of car to best your opponents. A spokesperson for White Wolf told ICv2 that there are between 1 and 1.5 million possible vehicle combinations using components from the first set.
There are five different levels of collectible cards: common, uncommon, rare, ultra-rare, and tournament. There will be seven ultra-rare cards (4 weapons and 3 knights) per 35-pack display and the 36th pack included in every display (MSRP $105.65) is a tournament pack containing one exclusive plastic card and eight exclusive knight cards.
Arthaus will back Racer Knights of Falconus with an organized play program and retailers can sign up to become official tournament venues and set up local circuits. Arthaus plans to send out 1000-2000 demo packs to hobby retailers. For consumers there are redeemable falcon emblems included on some cards. The falcons can be redeemed for rewards such as t-shirts, patches and, in the future, probably, exclusive cards.
