Avalanche Press has released the details for a number of new military board game releases set for December, January and February covering conflicts during the First World War (and its aftermath) as well as World War II.

In December Avalanche is releasing an all-new edition of its World War I naval combat game, the Great War at Sea: Jutland (MSRP $64.99), which covers naval actions in the Baltic and North Sea from 1914-1918.  Huge fleets of German and British dreadnoughts clashed in the crucial battle of Jutland, which had an enormous impact on the outcome of the War.  In February Avalanche adds Zeppelins: A Great War at Sea Source/Scenario Book (MSRP $24.99) that details the impact of the giant dirigibles on naval campaigns in First World War and also includes 88 oversize game pieces depicting famous airships.

One of the outcomes of the First World War was the Russian Revolution and in January Avalanche is shipping Red Russia: The Russian Civil War, 1919-1922 (MSRP $29.99), a game that allows up to five players to take up the roles of the different factions fighting to control Russia after the fall of the Tsar.  The game includes 120 tiles and a 22' x 34' map of Russia.

Avalanche also has two World War II games set for early in 2006 starting in January with Strange Defeat: The Fall of France 1940 (MSRP $19.99), which allows players to recreate the German blitzkrieg, which, based on the equipment and number of forces on the two sides, perhaps wouldn't have turned out to be such a 'slam dunk' for the Germans if the allies had had better leadership.

In February Avalanche follows up with the release of Sicily 1943 (MSRP $19.99) a game with 140 pieces representing the German, Italian, British, and American units involved in the campaign to open up what Churchill mistakenly called 'the soft underbelly of Europe.'
