Wizards of the Coast has announced it will release a new line of Dungeons & Dragons miniatures in 2006. These limited edition dragons and legendary creatures, called D&D Icons, will be either Gargantuan (four inch by four inch base) or Colossal (six inch by six inch base).  Although larger than the Giants of Legend expansion from this year, the scale of the new figures will make them compatible with the rest of the D&D Miniatures line.  They'll be sold in non-randomized packaging.

Two of the large figures will be released per year, with the first Gargantuan, Black Dragon, coming next June, followed by the first Colossal, Red Dragon, in August. Each figure will come with a full-color map, playable game scenario, double-sided stat card and a standard-sized miniature.
