Rio Grande Games will release the latest expansion for its Carcassonne board game, Carcassonne: The Tower ($14.95), in March along with the contemporary nightclubbing game, Times Square.  Six years after its initial appearance Klaus-Jurgen Wrede's Carcassonne remains a Top 5 Board Game according to the ICv2 Retailers Guide to Games and expansions such as Carcassonne: The Tower offer an explanation for the game's long-lived popularity.  As the lords of the region around Carcassonne erect towers to promote their power and influence, players can capture these isolated fortresses and hold their occupants for ransom or exchange.  Carcassonne fans will enjoy the new tactical opportunities offered by this expansion, which also includes a special tower for storing the landscape tiles, providing players a convenient way to draw tiles during the game.

Also shipping in March is Times Square ($22.95), a brisk (20-30 minutes) board game for two players designed by Reiner Knizia.  In Times Square, rival nightclub owners attempt to attract celebrities and other important people to their clubs, and the winner is the player who is best at attracting the rich and famous.
