Mongoose is planning a January 2007 release for a new miniatures game, Battlefield Evolution, which takes place ten years in the future and allows players command real world combat units and utilize the latest weapons technology. The new game will feature pre-painted miniatures and will include four different armies. Battlefield Evolution will feature a modified version of the rules that Mongoose has drafted for its Starship Troopers CMG.
Although Mongoose has yet to reveal all the details concerning the exact format and price of Battlefield Evolution, they have released photos of a Chinese Type 99 and American Abrams tank, which clearly provides an indication of the superb paint jobs the miniatures in this game will sport. Mongoose has also announced that the Battlefield Evolution miniatures will not be blind-boxed. The minis will be released in box sets complete with window so customers can see exactly what they are getting.
In January Mongoose will release two box sets for each of the four armies involved in the game (the U.S. Marine Corps, the European Union Coalition, The Middle Eastern Alliance and the Chinese People's Liberation Army). Each month thereafter Mongoose will release an additional box set for each of the four armies.
