Dreamworks has rescheduled the release of Sharkslayer to October 1, 2004, allowing Disney to own the November 5, 2004 release date for the Disney/Pixar release The Incredibles.  Dreamworks had originally claimed the date early this year, then in May Disney announced that it would release its animated film on the same date (see 'Disney Drills Dreamworks with Pixar Pic').  Spongebob Squarepants and  Polar Express are set for November 19th, making the move earlier the only way to go for Dreamworks.

Dreamworks also told Variety that it was going to remove the word 'slayer' from the title because it 'was considered too harsh.'    A new slayer-less name is expected to be announced soon.
