Happy Worker, Inc., a Toronto-based manufacturer of highly specialized action figures, is expanding its line of White Collar Warriors in 2005 by adding MoneyMan and BossMan to the hygienically-challenged GeekMan figure released last year. The six-inch tall plastic action figures come with numerous accessories and they have generated enough interest in the business world to merit a substantial article in the Business Section of last Sunday's New York Times. The figures are targeted at midlevel employees, who use the White Collar Warriors to decorate their cubicles and poke fun at the foibles of their colleagues, bosses and supervisors. The WCW figures are sold primarily through various specialty stores including comic book shops and record stores.
MoneyMan is the superhero for accountants, bankers, insurance agents and other financial types. Fighting fearlessly for free enterprise, MoneyMan comes with six accessories including wire-rimmed glasses, piggy bank, paper shredder, briefcase, bundle of cash and calculator. His superpowers include loophole creation, fuzzy math and figure fudging, unearthly financial dexterity and money bunny attraction.
The BossMan, aka the 'big cheese,' 'head honcho,' 'slave driver,' and 'El Supremo,' comes with seven accessories including a happy face, an angry face, a serious face, stock certificate, megaphone, cigar and annual report. With his collection of power ties BossMan excels at all things nebulous including 'adding value,' 'schmoozing,' and seeing the 'big picture.'
