After an absence of sixteen years, Doctor Who returned as quite a success in the U.K. this year, winning the Most Popular Drama award at the U.K. National TV Awards, ahead of Desperate Housewives, among others. Additionally, Christopher (Doctor Who) Eccleston, who won't be returning to the show for the next series, won the Best Actor award. Doctor Who fans will be able to see his turn as Doctor Who on DVD in February (see 'New 'Doctor Who' Available in Canada').
