The Bulletproof Monk took more than a few hits from critics and at the box office, but the adventure/comedy/martial arts saga, which was based on the Flypaper Press comic book published by Image, might yet find its audience on DVD. After all Chow Yun Fat films tend to do very well at many video stores, and the critic for the New York Times justly praised the film for its unpretentious style and nice blend of humor and action. MGM Home Entertainment will release the Bulletproof Monk DVD on September 9 with English, French and Spanish soundtracks. The DVD contains a nice helping of extras including two audio commentaries, five 'The Tao of Monk' behind-the-scenes featurettes, plus deleted scenes including an alternate ending, trailers, and a still gallery. The MSRP for The Bulletproof Monk DVD is $26.95.
