FUNimation Entertainment, a subsidiary of the Navarre Corporation, claimed the top spot in home video sales of anime in North America for 2006.  FUNimation's analysis of the Neilson VideoScan reports, which are based on POS data from several channels of video distribution including mass market retailers (though not Wal-Mart), video specialty retailers, electronics stores and some Internet sites, showed that FUNimation accounted for 23.2% of the anime market in 2006.  FUNimation's share was nearly double that of its closest competitor, which claimed 12.6% of the market according to FUNimation's analysis.

 

FUNimation's 2006 releases included several popular Dragon Ball Z Movies, the Full Metal Alchemist Movie as well as FMA TV releases, Trinity Blood, Negima, Samurai 7, Desert Punk, Gunslinger Girl, Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid, SpeedGrapher and others.
