Variety is reporting that Walt Disney Pictures and Stan Lee's POW! Entertainment have set up three projects, the first three films resulting from the first look deal that Lee signed with Disney last June (see "Disney Signs Stan the Man"). All three projects, Nick Ratchet, Blaze, and Tigress, were created for the silver screen rather than for comic books, though Lee told Variety that if they become successful movies, comic book adaptations would be part of a "natural progression."
Nick Ratchet, which is being written and directed by Richard LaGravenese (P.S. I Love You), appears to be the farthest along with Gerard Butler (300) set to star as the title character. Gary Goldman (Next) is writing Blaze, while Zoe Green is adapting Tigress, which is not to be confused with a previously announced Stan Lee project of the same name about a female Conan the Barbarian.
Disney is keeping details of the plots of all three projects under wraps.
