Inkworks Trading Cards has announced the acquisition of two new licenses, the vampire movie Twilight and the supernaturally-focused television series, The Ghost Whisperer.  Inkworks has just released the X-Files: I Want to Believe Trading Cards, and will launch its Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa and Supernatural: Season 3 cards in October, plus a set based on Frank Miller’s The Spirit in December as well as the newly-announced Twilight Trading Cards in November.

Produced by Summit Entertainment, Twilight is set to debut on December 12th with the Inkworks’ Twilight cards slated for a November release to provide retailers with a three-to-four week window before the film opens.  Twilight is based on the first novel a bestselling series by Stephenie Meyers, and Summit is hoping to create a franchise out of this saga of a teenage girl who falls in love with a “good” vampire, who manages to save her from the predation of “bad” vampires.  Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen) is directing a very photogenic young cast led by newcomers Kristen Stewart (Panic Room) and Robert Pattinson (the heroic Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire).

The Ghost Whisperer is a supernatural-fantasy-thriller that will start its fourth season on the CBS network at 8pm (ET, PT) on October 3rd.  The Ghost Whisperer stars the extremely attractive Jennifer Love Hewitt as Melinda Gordon, a young woman who has the ability to see and communicate with the dead.  Inkworks has not yet released the details or the release date for its first series of The Ghost Whisperer Trading Cards but will likely proceed to produce trading card sets for each of the show's seasons.
