The New York Comic Con is teaming up with J. David Spurlock of Vanguard Press to bring a number of key artists and illustrators to this year’s festivities at the Javits Center. Silver Age maestro Carmine Infantino will greet fans at the Vanguard booth along with Vanguard founder J.David Spurlock. Other key attendees sponsored at least in part by Vanguard include legendary Famous Monsters of Filmland cover artist Basil Gogos, X-Men,/Micronauts/The’Nam artist Michael Golden, the legendary Jim Steranko, plus Frank Brunner (Dr. Strange, Howard the Duck), Mark Texeira (Conan, Ghost Rider), and Rich Buckler (FF, X-Men, Teen Titans).
Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Peter Petrelli on NBC’s Heroes, will also appear at the NYCC along with his DiVide Pictures partner, Russ Cundiff, writer Rick Loverd, and artist Jeremy Haun to discuss their upcoming Top Cow series Berserker. The #0 issue of the Berserker comic book will be available at the Top Cow booth at the NYCC, and those who attend the Berserker panel will receive a special pass that will allow them to participate in a limited signing event featuring the panelists at the Top Cow booth immediately after the discussion.
