Topps is preparing a second series of Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones Trading Cards in its big-screen-imitating widevision format (2 9/16' x  4 12/16).  The 80-card series will include lots of imagery from the second half of the film (basically from the droid factory sequence to the end) that was not available when Topps published the first series of Clones cards.  The new cards should hit retail in November in time to take advantage of the release of the Attack of the Clones DVD.  Since the film grossed over $300 million at the box office, the release of the DVD, which is expected to net more money for Lucasfilm than the film's theatrical release, will be accompanied by a major advertising campaign.

In addition to much better imagery from the second half of the film, the new series has 'behind the scenes' features on the back of every card with details about how models are used, blue screen shots, vehicle plans, etc.  Topps is also randomly inserting autograph cards featuring some major performers including Yoda himself (Frank Oz).
