Actor, comedian, and all-around pop culture maven Patton Oswalt has been tapped for a guest star appearance on the ABC TV series Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.  Oswalt will play Agent Eric Koenig.  Koenig was a member of Nick Fury’s original Howling Commandos.  He was an anti-Nazi German (the Nazis killed his sister) who was both a pilot and a trainer.  After the World War II, Koenig joined S.H.I.E.L.D., and reunited with Fury.
 
Marvel.com broke the news that Oswalt was going to appear on the show, but did not reveal the name of the episode in which he will appear.  A long time comic book fan, Oswalt didn’t need any prompting to accept the offer to join the onscreen Marvel universe.
