It seems Marvel is making good on the threat to off Deadpool that was teased last September (see “Deadpool... Dies?”). Marvel has announced that the Merc With a Mouth will meet his end in April’s Deadpool #45.

As the series finale, Marvel is re-titling the oversized issue as Deadpool Number 250, as they consider it the 250th issue of Wade Wilson’s adventures if all the one-shots, team-ups and mini-series, (including the recent ones where he tried to kill himself) are included. The main cover will be done by Scott Koblish, with a variant cover by Tony Moore.

The 30-page main story will be done by Gerry Duggan, Brian Posehn and Mike Hawthorne.  This will be followed by a ‘long lost’ adventure by Duggan, Poshn and Scott Koblish where Deadpool gets his hands on the Infinity Gauntlet and apparently hosts a Roast of Deadpool.  Finally there will be a host of bonus stories from Paul Scheer & Nick Giovannetti (Deadpool Bi-Annual), Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang Bang), Ben Acker & Ben Blacker (Thunderbolts, Thrilling Adventure Hour), Jason Mantzoukas (The League),  and Mike Drucker (The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon) among others.

Marvel did not include information on any special events tied to a memorial event for Wade (yet) like they did for Wolverine (see “'Death of Wolverine' Memorial”), but at least fans will have a movie featuring their fallen favorite to look forward to next year (see “'Deadpool' Movie Gets a Date”).
