The CW Network has released a poster for Rob Thomas’ adaptation of the Vertigo comic book series iZombie that depicts series star Rose McIver complete with a Mona Lisa smile, holding an autopsy jar with a human brain. The poster neatly sums up the plot elements of the new CW TV series that debuts on March 17th.
As creator Rob (Veronica Mars) Thomas explained (see "'iZombie' TV Series to Differ From Comic") the TV series appropriated the concept of a mid-20s female zombie who eats brains and gains the memories of the dead from the comic book by Chris Roberson and Mike Allred and then added a police procedural structure by giving her a job in the coroner’s office where she can indulge in her favorite form of alimentation and help solve crimes at the same time.
