20th Century Fox Television, New Regency Television, and Prime Universe films are teaming up to create a television series based on the Enormous comic book series created by Tim Daniel and Mehdi Cheggour. Originally published by Image Comics (and now by 215 Ink), Enormous is a post-apocalyptic saga set in the wake of an ecological catastrophe that leads to the creation of gigantic beasts (the "Enormous" of the title), who quickly ascend to the top of the food chain in a depleted Earth where mankind has become the hunted.
Originally optioned by Trollhunter helmer Andre Ovredal (see "Trollhunter Director to Helm 'Enormous'"), Enormous was first made into a short film (with a script by Ovredal) by Machinima. According to Deadline, the next major push for the property will be a TV series. With its courageous female lead character and its popular post-apocalyptic subject matter, Enormous could have a better than average chance of making it to the small screen, though no showrunner for the series has been designated yet.
