Osprey Publishing’s new board game imprint Osprey Games has announced its first board game release, The King is Dead. The game is planned for late 2015 release.
The King is Dead is designed by Peer Sylvester, with art from Peter Dennis. The historical game is set in the chaotic period following the death of King Arthur, where players take the role of members of his court, vying for succession. The new leader must gain enough political power to unite the Scots, Welsh and Romano-British factions. MSRP will be $24.95.
Joseph McCullough, Games Marketing & Osprey Adventures Project Manager told ICv2 that the game release plans have not been finalized, but "the game will certainly be at Spiel."
Osprey Publishing announced Osprey Games in March 2014 (see "New Osprey Publishing Game Division"), and began shifting its game-related book releases to the Osprey Games banner last year (see "New Osprey Fantasy and Civil War Skirmish Games").
