Fantasy Flight Games has announced it will release a new edition of Reiner Knizia’s tile-laying game Samurai in early Q4 as part of its Euro Classics Line.

Set in feudal Japan, players take the roles of ambitious daimyo competing for control of the country. Players use tiles to spread their influence over lesser lords, religious leaders, and rice production. When influence fails, it is necessary to send in samurai to establish dominance.

The new edition maintains the original mechanics, but updates the game with new art and graphic design, as well as sculpted game pieces and new leader tokens.  The game is for 2 – 4 players, ages 14 and up, and plays in 30-60 minutes. MSRP is $49.95.
