Bushiroad will release a Weiss Schwarz: Log Horizon Trial Deck and Weiss Schwarz: Log Horizon Extra Booster, tied to the anime (based on a light novel series) about gamers who get sucked into a MMORPG when a game update proves to be even more "immersive" than advertised, on October 23.
The Weiss Schwarz: Log Horizon Trial Deck will contain 50 cards from the first four episodes of the anime, rule sheet, deck manual, playbook and playmat. Two types of exclusive RRR Foil cards and 1 SP Gold Foil/Hot Stamp signed card from Emiri Kato, the Japanese voice actress who plays Akatsuki, are randomly inserted in the decks.
The Weiss Schwarz Log Horizon Extra Booster set includes 50 cards with artwoak by the official Log Horizon illustrator, Kazuhiro Hara, 50 parallels, and exclusive SP Gold Foil/Hot Stamp signed cards from three members of the Japanese voice cast: Takuma Terashima, who plays Shiroe; Emiri Kato, who plays Akatsuki; and Yumi Hara, who plays Maryelle. Each six-card pack includes four normal and two parallel cards.
The North American market should be pretty well primed. Yen Press has the manga and the source material light novels, and Sentai Filmworks has the anime home video rights (see "DVD Round-Up: 'Adventure Time,' 'Drunk History'").
