Marvel has announced, via Mashable, that it will launch Red Wolf, starring the Native American character, in December.  The news was teased back in June when the character appeared in Marvel’s poster of characters in its All-New, All-Different line-up (see “Marvel Teases Post-‘Secret Wars’ Title Line-Up”).

The current version of the Red Wolf character was introduced in the alternate universe 1872, which launched in July at #45 with 42,805 North American sales (see “Top 300 Comics Actual – July 2015”).  This new version will have his own story and powers, with no connection to the earlier versions, which date back to 1970.  The character will not be associated with any actual Native American tribe.

Nathan Edmondson will write, Jeffrey Veregge, a member of the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe in Kingston, Washington will consult and contribute designs and covers, and Dalibor Talajic will provide the art.
