ABC, the home of Agent Carter and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., has put a Marvel comedy series into development, according to Hollywood Reporter.  The network has ordered a script for Marvel’s Damage Control, based on the cleanup crew of the Marvel Universe, from a concept created by Dwayne McDuffie and Ernie Colon in the late 80s as “a sitcom within the Marvel Universe.”

The show has some comedy heavyweights behind it.  It will be exec produced by Ben Karlin (Daily Show, Colbert Report, Modern Family), who developed the show; David Miner (30 Rock, Parks and Recreation, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Brooklyn Nine-Nine), and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb.

In addition to the two Marvel shows airing now, ABC is also developing Marvel’s Most Wanted (see “ABC Mockingbird Series is Back”) in addition to the new comedy.

There’s also a DC comedy in development; Powerless would be a workplace comedy in the DC universe (see “’The Office’ Meets the DC Universe in ‘Powerless’”).
