New York Comic Con News: Paul Reubens, best known for his role as Pee-wee Herman in the stylish Pee-Wee’s Playhouse TV series, is joining the cast of Gotham for a second season stint as the father of The Penguin (aka Oswald Cobblepot, who is extremely well-played in the Gotham series by actor Robin Lord Taylor). Meanwhile Warner Bros. released a six-minute sizzle reel for Gotham that provides plenty of atmosphere and action while also introducing Captain Nathaniel Barnes (Michael Chiklis), a tough cop, who immediately begins remaking a department that has been riddled with corruption
Reubens previously played the role of The Penguin’s father in Tim Burton’s 1992 Batman Returns in which The Penguin was played by Danny DeVito. It should be said that Reuben's parental relationshio to Robin Lord Taylor appears much more plausible than Peewee's supposed siring of Danny Devito back in 1992.
