New York Comic Con News: Dark Horse announced a new apocalyptic miniseries based on the classic manga Lone Wolf and Cub, as well as a new Tomb Raider story written by the Eisner-winning author of This One Summer: Mariko Tamaki.

A reimagining of Kazuo Koike’s classic Lone Wolf and Cub manga, this dystopian tale takes place in a future where a manmade plague has turned portions of the human population into cannibalistic monsters. Yong Daisy Ogami’s blood may hold the key to a cure, if her android protector Itto can transport her safely to a location where it can be extracted. The story is written by screenwriter Eric Heisser (Shaper), with art by Miguel Sepulveda (Red Lanterns, Action Comics).  The four-issue miniseries launches on January 6.

This One Summer  won cousins Mariko Tamaki & Jillian Tamaki the 2015 Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album (see “ 'Lumberjanes,' 'Saga,' 'Little Nemo' Feted at 2015 Eisner Awards”).  Now Mariko will write Lara Croft’s latest adventure through a new series of exotic locals and archeological sites. The new story launches in February.
