Rio Grande Games has announced six games returning to print in the second quarter: Friday, Imperial, Imperial 2030, Unexpected Treasures, Navegador, and Fearsome Floors.

Friday is a solo adventure designed by Friedemann Friese (Power Grid, Fauna) originally released in 2009. The player takes the role of Friday, the companion of Robinson Crusoe, helping the castaway fight against the many hazards of the island. Robinson gains experience throughout the game, but the player must manage a card deck of different behaviors carefully, since Robinson will age though the game and get clumsy sometimes. The player must gather the best deck to defeat the pirates at the end of the game.

The game is for one player, ages 13 and up. MSRP is $19.95. Release is planned for April.

Designed by Mac Gerts (Concordia, Antike) Imperial is an strategic, economic area control game set in the European age of imperialism, originally released in 2006. Players take the role of imperial investors, trying to make money on the six imperial nations’ (Great Britain, Germany, Russia, Austria-Hungary, Italy, France) need to build up their economies and buy troops and fleets. The game is executed by the six nations, not the investors, who can only exert financial influence on various nations in hopes of gaining returns on their investments. The investor who exerts the most influence and diplomacy effectively will win.

Also designed by Gerts is the futuristic version of Imperial: Imperial 2030, originally released in 2009. Players now invest quietly in the new six imperial nations (China, India, Brazil, United States, Russia, Europe) and try to influence the nations to gain the best return on their investments.

Designed by Friedemann Friese, Unexpected Treasures is a set collection card game that originally released in 2002. Players are sent to a bulky waste collection site to recover old furniture and sell it for a profit. Players can only take a few items home at a time, and they must be wary of thieves who may steal their collectible goods when they’re out retrieving other finds.

The game is for 3 -6 players, ages 13 and up. MSRP is $19.95. Release is planned for June.

Navegador is an economic speculation, area movement game designed by Mac Gerts, which originally released in 2010. Set in the 15th Century, Portuguese Prince Henry the Navigator has summoned the best cartographers and navigators and instructed them to explore the shorelines of the African coast. Players sail all the way to Nagasaki, Japan from Portugal, founding colonies sand building factories for sugar, gold, and spices. But prices for goods fluctuate, so players must adapt to market conditions to continue to finance their travels.

Fearsome Floors is a race game by Friedemann Friese, where players try to escape the modular board of the dungeon without running into the monster. The game was originally released in 2003.
