Petersen Games is publishing a Cthulhu mythos-based Pathfinder RPG campaign world entitled Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos for Pathfinder.

Sandy Petersen is well-known for being a large part of why Cthulhu has such a large presence in modern gaming; his work includes Arkham Horror, Call of Cthulhu, Cthulhu Wars, and more. This new campaign setting brings together the sword-and-sorcery RPG with Eldritch Horror.

The book includes an extensive bestiary with over 50 monstrosities never before seen in Pathfinder, updates to previously published beasts for a Cthulhu mythos, adventure and plot hooks, and more. Sandy Petersen's Cthulhu Mythos for Pathfinder is a full-color hardcover book. MSRP will be $39.99.

The company is currently seeking funding for the setting on Kickstarter, with plans for the book to be available in game stores by January 2017. Currently, the game has far surpassed its funding goal, with $60,899 raised from 803 backers ($75.84/backer average).

Paizo has its own take on the Cthulhu mythos coming out soon; Strange Aeons Adventure Path: In Search of Sanity releases this August (see "'Pathfinder' Goes 'In Search of Sanity'").
