The Tiny Titans team of Art Baltazar and Franco Aureliani are bringing the Aw Yeah Comics universe to Papercutz, kicking off with Action Cat and Adventure Bug: Let’s Do This! Baltazar and Aureliani cooked up the title characters in the early 2010s as mascots for their Aw Yeah Comics store and then, as Baltazar said in a comment accompanying the announcement, “When kids first saw the characters on our store logo, they kept asking for the comic.” So they made one. The first volume is a mix of new material and older stories from the pair’s earlier collaboration and features a comic shop where the employees turn into superheroes to fight aliens, monsters, and the supervillainous Evil Cat. Rated for ages 10-14, Action Cat and Adventure Bug: Let’s Do This will go on sale on January 6, 2026, as a hardcover with an MSRP of $17.99 and a paperback with an MSRP of $12.99.

More adventures are planned, and Baltazar teased possible crossovers with the characters from his Yahgz and Gillberttitles, which are also published by Papercutz.

Baltazar, Aureliani, and Marc Hammond are the founders of Aw Yeah Comics (see “Business 3x3: Marc Hammond at Aw Yeah Comics”), which has three locations, in Skokie, IL, Muncie, IN, and Harrison, NY. The first issues of Aw Yeah Comics were self-published under the same name. In 2014 Dynamite published Captain Action Cat, in which Action Cat crossed over with the Silver Age hero Captain Action and a number of Dark Horse characters (see “‘Captain Action (Cat)’ Crossover”), and Dark Horse published a four-issue Action Cat miniseries in 2015 (see “Art & Franco Back with More ‘Action Cat’”).
