The Shadowrun universe will enter a deeper involvement with the metaplanes and the Seelie [Faerie] Court with the 78-card Tarot Deck, which will be illustrated by Echo Chernik. A player’s aid, the Court of Shadows book will also be available. Both will release in Q3. Tentative MSRP is $25.00 for the deck, and $50.00 for the book.
“The next Technical LE normal book [for Shadowrun] is the creatures one – Howling Shadows,” Coleman shared. Additional details were not announced.
Encounters: Shadowrun will be a press-your-luck style dice game, similar to Encounters: Bravest Warriors (see “'Encounters: Bravest Warriors'”). “We’ve beefed it up a bit to be more fluent to the Shadowrun world. You have your Shadowrunners, they want to stay as part of a group, you can rebuy them back when you use them,” Coleman said. “Some of the missions are very flavorful, varied themed, you can go to different cities.” Tentative MSRP is $30.00. Release is planned for the end of the year.
Catalyst also plans to release a light mechanic, storytelling-heavy version of the Shadowrun rulebook called Shadowrun: Anarchy. “The idea is if anyone wants to try Shadowrun but they don’t want to really look at a 400-page rulebook, this is a 40 - 50-page rule book,” Coleman explained. “A very light version. It’s storytelling and very light roleplaying.” Release is planned for Gen Con, and tentative MSRP is $25.00.
For BattleTech, Interstellar Operations will release on April 27. The rulebook continues the series begun with Total Warfare and includes Tactical Operations and Strategic Operations. It contains rules for running a faction’s entire military over multiple solar systems, on a larger scale than previously represented in the rules. The Alternate Eras section will include rules for play across millennia of history, including the unique weapons and equipment unique to each era. MSRP is $59.99. The Valiant Universe RPG book Transcendent’s Edge is due to release at Origins (see “'Valiant Universe: Transcendent's Edge'”), with an MSRP of $25.00. This will be followed in September by Valiant Universe: The Deckbuilding Game (see “'Valiant Universe: The Deckbuilding Game'” which is due this summer. MSRP is $15.00.
