Marvel has been teasing the storyline for weeks, with the “Dead No More” tagline below images of various villains and deceased loved ones of Peter Parker (see gallery below). A mysterious man in a red suit has appeared to some of Spider-Man’s greatest foes (Doctor Octopus, the Rhino, Electro, the Lizard) and offered them a deal - follow him and their loved ones live; fail him, and they disappear forever.

A prologue for the new storyline will appear in one of Marvel’s Free Comic Book Day offerings, from Dan Slott and Javier Garron, then pick up in Amazing Spider-Man #19 this fall.  Covers for the series will be done by Alex Ross, with connecting variants illustrated by Alexander Lozano.
