The video game has 70 million players worldwide, and the board game combines elements of the original digital game with a new tabletop design. Players compete as deadly diseases trying to be the first to infect and wipe out the world.

It includes one World Board, 42 Country Cards, 62 Trait Cards, 19 Event Cards, four Evolution Slides, one Card Mat, 64 Plague Tokens, 4 DNA Point Markers, a rule book, an End Game Bonus Card, and a single "Death Die." The game is designed for up to five players and plays in 90 minutes.

So far, the game has raised $136,955 in pledges from 2,558 backers (an average of about $53.53/backer), with the Kickstarter campaign closing on May 31. Backer fulfillment is planned for November with a trade release to follow. While the Kickstarter campaign does not include an official retailer tier, Ndemic Creations asks interested stores to contact the company if interested in preordering the game.
