WizKids is planning to release two giant-themed Dungeons & Dragons products:  the Icons of the Realms:  Storm King’s Thunder pre-painted miniatures set is scheduled for September, and the Assault of the Giants board game will release next spring.

Releasing in September to support Wizards of the Coast’s summer Dungeons & Dragons storyline, Storm King’s Thunder will include pre-painted plastic figures representing the giants fighting for domination over the Forgotten Realms.

There will be a total of 44 figures in the set, both monsters and heroes, packaged randomly in booster boxes.  MSRP is $16.99 per booster.  This will be the fifth set in WizKids Icons of the Realms series.

WizKids is also offering a case incentive promo figure to go along with Storm King’s ThunderChief Guh, with an MSRP of $39.99.

Assault of the Giants is a board game designed by Andrew Parks (Core Worlds, Star Trek:  Attack Wing) that puts players in command of armies of giants fighting for domination.  Using six varieties of giants to raid settlements, players must marshal their food and treasure to achieve victory.

Assault of the Giants will include 14 large giant miniatures that measure between 4 and 5.5 inches all.  The game is scheduled to release in spring, 2017.  MSRP will be $99.99.

WizKids had previously announced plans to include 55 minis in the fifth Icons of the Realms set, originally scheduled for July (see “‘D&D Icons of the Realms Set 5’ Minis”).
