Entertainment Weekly unveiled EW PopFest, a new consumer event which will take place October 29 – 30 at The Reef in downtown Los Angeles.

The event will feature appearances and performances by A-list movie, TV, music, gaming and books talent.  The two-day festival will include live music, film and television screenings, and talks with talent and creators including actors, TV showrunners, film directors, videogame designers, and authors.

The event will be produced by INVNT, the live media agency which Time Inc. acquired in 2015.  EW PopFest expands EW’s commitment to live consumer events, including last month’s kick off of a multi-year partnership between EW and the ATX Television Festival, and the debut of Entertainment Weekly’s Con-X, a new unique experiential oasis for Comic-Con fans at this summer’s Comic-Con International in San Diego.

Con-X, located at Embarcadero Marina Park North, is an immersive fan destination designed to provide an environment where fans can relax, refresh and recharge while complementing their Comic-Con experience.  It features trivia events, a place to create custom t-shirts, a shaded green outdoor area and device recharging terminals.  At night there are concerts.

EW PopFest’s line-up will include appearances from James Corden, of CBS' The Late Late Show, a performance by Nick Jonas, discussions with Jodie Foster, and showrunner Ryan Murphy.  Attendees will have an opportunity to see first-look footage and special guests from Sony's Dark Tower, and an outdoor screening of the film Scream, which celebrates its 20th Anniversary this year.
