Comic-Con News: At Comic-Con Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. released a trailer for Kong: Skull Island, which is slated to debut nationwide on March 10, 2017. All the members of the cast including Tom Hiddleston, Samuel L. Jackson, Brie Larson, and John Goodman are shown to good effect along with a certain hairy giant, who is glimpsed only in brief flashes, but whose presence will obviously loom over the entire picture. The scenes of armed helicopters flying through the rocky jungle canyons of Skull Island recall Vietnam War movies like Apocalypse Now, and the fiery crash of a chopper that appears to have been knocked out of the air by a palm tree (flung no doubt by you know who) is quite spectacular.
Two years ago at Comic-Con Legendary and Warner Bros. announced the film (see "'Skull Island'"), and thanks to the success of Legendary’s Godzilla revival, we can expect the return of Kong to the big screen next March.
