At Gen Con, Monte Cook Games announced the new roleplaying game Invisible Sun.

Designed by Monte Cook, the game is a deep immersion storytelling game, with mechanics and gameplay tailored to overcoming the barriers to full immersion.  Magic is not mechanical, but fantastical. Character creation and development are based around the story arcs. The game also includes away-from-the-table-activities, and includes rules to deal with absent players, solo play, and online gaming.

Monte Cook Games refers to the game as “adult” in nature, due to its intricacies, challenging nature, and deep subject matter. The game is set in a new Actuality of surreal fantasy, where characters wield mystical powers and attempt to discover the secrets of true existence.

The game will be funded with a Kickstarter campaign which will launch August 15.
