Hit Point Sales will release Grim Games’ Grim dice game on November 4.
In Grim, players compete against each other and eventually the Grim Reaper in a battle to escape a GrimFATE in the AfterRealm. Players start the game with 10 tokens, strike counters, a score card and a GrimFATE card. The object of the game is to get rid of all tokens, either by turning them in to Grim, or giving them to opponents. Players most roll three dice to earn the ability to turn in tokens, or they may choose to save up the tokens for a change at using "Grim’s Hand" to force them on an opponent.
Once a player is rid of their tokens, they must face Grim in a solo duel to achieve victory. If the player wins, the other players are swept off to the AfterRealm, and must read their GrimFATE cards aloud. If the player loses the duel, they are given 10 tokens by Grim and must continue to play.
The box contains 3 Grim dice, 1 12-sided die, 14 Grim’s Hand, 6 Grim scorecards, 1 reference sheet, 1 Grim card, 8 Grim Fate cards, 120 Grim tokens. The game is for 2 – 6 players, ages 10 and up, and plays in 15 minutes. MSRP is $24.95.
The game was funded via a Kickstarter in July 2015 which raised $19,966 from 570 backers ($35.03/backer average).
