News on upcoming geek films abounds, so we’re rounding up the latest here.
James Cameron’s adaptation of Yukito Kishiro’s manga Battle Angel Alita has added a few new cast members. Luke Cage standout Mahershala Ali is in negotiations to play Vector, one of the film’s villains, according the THR. Variety reports that Lana Condor (X-Men: Apocalypse) has been cast as orphaned teen Koyomi. Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez (From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series) has also been cast in an unidentified role according to Variety. They will join the previously announced Rose Salazar, who is playing the eponymous cyborg bounty hunter (see “Mid-June Geek Film Casting Round-Up”), and Keenan Johnson, who is playing love interest Hugo (see “'Hot Wheels' Film Finds Director, Valiant Flips Movie Order”).
