DC Entertainment has partnered with Dynamite Entertainment and Conde Nast to launch an epic crossover uniting two of comics greatest detectives in Batman/The Shadow on April 26.

The six-issue miniseries will be written by Scott Snyder (Batman, Swamp Thing, The Wake) and Steve Orlando (Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Justice League of America), with art and main cover for issue #1 by Riley Rossmo (Batman, Constantine: The Hellblazer).

Unexplained murder comes to Gotham. Batman follows the trail of evidence that leads to a suspect named Lamont Cranston. But Cranston has been dead for fifty years. As Batman delves into the mystery of Cranston’s life, The Shadow emerges, not to help, but to keep Batman from learning too much.

Batman/The Shadow will pay tribute to legacies in comics and pulp fiction, as the two characters meet in a generations-deep conflict unlike any they’ve seen before, with a case that stretches back to the origins of time, and will redefine murder,” said Orlando.

Batman and The Shadow have crossed paths before, in Batman #253 in 1973 and in Batman #259 in 1974.
