Registration begins on Friday, April 7, from 3-7 pm. Registrants will receive five Raging Tempest booster packs.
The victor in the tournament’s Main Event will receive a Championship Trophy, paid travel and accommodations for the 2017 World Championship Qualifier with VIP status, and a PlayStation 4 Pro 1TB system. Top finishers win a Number 93: Utopia Kaiser prize card, which is available only to players finishing in the top three spots in the Main Event or the winner of a special Public Event playoff tournament. The top 32 finishers will each receive a Top Cut game mat featuring the Number 93: Utopia Kaiser artwork and an invitation to the 2017 World Championship Qualifier tournament. Additional prizes include gaming consoles and Ultimate Duelist Series Points as well as World Qualifying Points based on the number of WCQ invites awarded. World Qualifying Points are part of Konami’s new method for awarding World Championship invites (see “Konami Offers New Method for Invitation to ‘Yu-Gi-Oh!’ World Championship”).
Alongside the YCS Main Event, Konami will host a Dragon Duels tournament running all weekend for players born in 2004 or later. Each participant will receive 10 sealed Epic Dawn Battle Packs to build their decks. The top four players will receive medals, a Regional Deck Box, 2017 Regional game mat, a Dragon Duel T-shirt, and in invitation to a Dragon Duel World Championship Qualifier. The top player each day will compete in a final showdown for the Dragon Duel Champion’s Trophy and a Super Rare set of Darklord YCS prize cards.Also scheduled are 2017 Regional Qualifiers, Ultimate Duelist Series Qualifiers, School Tournament Series, 3 vs. 3 Team Dueling, ATTACK OF THE GIANT CARD!!, Win-a-Mat, Sealed Starter Deck and Structure Deck, Duelist League, Yu-Gi-Oh! Day, and Generation Duel Tournaments.
Konami will also live stream coverage of the events online for fans unable to attend.
