Art book publisher Yumfactory has announced plans to produce a dexterity-based game called Vampires vs. Unicorns:  Floor War, releasing in November.

Created by Jim Dubois (Seven Treasures) and Attaboy (co-creator of the alternative art magazine Hi Fructose) Vampires vs. Unicorns features an army of snobbish vampires illustrated by Travis Louie squaring off against a gang of ill-behaved unicorns illustrated by Travis Lampe.

The combatants are represented on large 7.75-inch square tiles, which are placed on the floor to begin the game.  Each player then takes a deck of 48 cards, which they must toss across the battlefield, hoping to make them land on their opponent’s tiles to remove them.  Some cards grant special powers when used, such as “animating” used cards or tossing multiple cards at once.  The first player to eliminate the opposing side wins.

Vampires vs. Unicorns:  Floor War comes with 14 tiles and 96 cards.  The game is intended for 2 players and plays in about 15 minutes.  MSRP has not been announced.

Yumfactory is funding production of the game through a Kickstarter campaign which attracted $32,508 in pledged support from 403 backers (an average of $80.67 per backer).  Backer fulfillment is planned for November, with release into the trade to follow.
