This fall, the Marvel multiverse will be ensnared by a deadly new species in Venomverse.

The five-issue miniseries is written by Cullen Bunn (X-Men Blue, Darth Maul) and drawn by Iban Coello (Venom, Deadpool & The Mercs for Money). Eddie Brock, aka Venom, finds himself trapped on a far-off world with other symbiote-bearing heroes, where they face down the Poisons, a terrifying new Venom-hunting predator. The first issue will be in stores in September.

Venomverse comes on the heels of Edge of Venomverse, a five-issue miniseries launching on June 28. Each issue focuses on a Venomized superhero under the hand of a different creative team. The first issue has X-23 struggling with the Venom symbiote in a story by Matthew Rosenberg and Roland Boschi. Subsequent issues feature Venomized versions of Gwenpool (Christopher Hastings and Irene Strychalski), Ghost Rider (Simon Spurrier and Tigh Walker), Wolverine (Ryan Key and Andre Lima Araujo), and Deadpool (Clay McLeod Chapman and James Stokoe).

Sony is working on a feature film centered on Venom. Tom Hardy (Dark Knight Rises, Mad Max:  Fury Road) has been signed to play the lead in the film (see “Tom Hardy to Star in 'Venom'”), which is scheduled for October 5, 2018, debut (see “Date Set for ‘Venom’ Movie”).
