Announced in 2015, GTG’s The Sentinel Comics Role-Playing Game takes the characters and themes from the Sentinels of the Multiverse game and transports them into a role playing game (see “Greater Than Games Expands ‘Sentinel Comics’ Universe”). The game was created by Christopher Badell, Paul Bender, and Adam Rebottaro and the development team at Critical-Hits Studios.
The starting point for new players will be the Sentinel Comics Roleplaying Game Starter Kit, which teaches how to play through the use of 13 small booklets. The booklets include a Gameplay Guide, which introduces the rules, five Character Folios, each with stats for a different member of the Freedom Five, and a sixth Character Folio for the Freedom Five’s former intern Unity. Character Folios have the game stats for the hero, as well as instructions for how to use the hero sheet in the game. The rest of the booklets are complete adventures, written as the kind of linked stories one might find in a comic book series, and telling the story of the world of Sentinel Comics following the events of the Sentinels of the Multiverse card game. The adventures are designed to teach players how to play the game while moving the plot along.
The kit includes enough materials for up to six players (plus the game master) and is intended for ages 14 and up. MSRP is $19.95.
