IDW publishing has added returnability to its marketing support for Star Trek: Discovery #1, the publisher announced. The rationale for the program, which offers returnability as an incentive for ordering 25 copies or more, is that because the company "is currently unable to release material from the title in advance of the show’s debut" returnability will "allow retailers to order with greater confidence."
The comic series, launching October 25, will be written by Mike Johnson and Kristin Beyer with art and cover art by Tony Shasteen (see "'Star Trek Discovery' Comic Series in October"), all based on the CBS All Access series. But there’s not a lot out there about the show, with only a few weeks before it launches on September 24 (see "First Full 'Star Trek: Discovery' Trailer"), leading to IDW’s decision.
